Alana Tyler is a senior student at the University of South Carolina studying Public Relations. She was born and raised in Florence, South Carolina. Alana has previously interned for Friends of Refugees in Clarkston, Georgia, working with Youth Programs communications. She is currently employed at First Presbyterian Church assisting with communications between nonprofit ministries and the church. She plans to further her education by attending graduate school after completing her undergraduate degree in May. Eventually, Alana hopes to direct communications for a nonprofit organization.
Bailey Black, a Charlotte native, is a senior studying public relations at the University of South Carolina. She is currently a communications and marketing intern for the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority (CRVA). Working with this organization allows her to explore her passions for writing, editing, and interacting with different media outlets. As of now, her most memorable experiences with the CRVA have been working on the 2019 NASCAR Hall of Fame induction ceremony and the 2019 NBA All-Star Weekend. In the future Black hopes to do public relations for a sports team or professional league.
Camryn Garrett is a senior at the University of South Carolina majoring in public relations with a minor in marketing. Garrett has previously had two public relations and marketing internships. She worked as a public relations and marketing sales intern at Waterfront Group, LLC, which is a property development company. Garrett’s most recent internship was with Rebellia, a custom clothing company for fit women, where she worked as a social media marketing intern. Her strengths include strategic time management, organization and interpersonal skills. She was born and raised in North Carolina and hopes to go back after graduation.
Caroline Hearn is a senior public relations major and English minor at the University of South Carolina. She is interested in brand management for the entertainment and fashion industry as well as editorial writing. While pursuing her undergraduate career she has completed several internships, including a current position at the South Carolina Small Business Development Center where she helped write the yearlong review that was presented on Capitol Hill. She is a freelance editorial writer for omnicurated.com, a startup lifestyle website, and works with a local floral and event studio. She is a Woodrow Scholarship Recipient, a member of PRSSA, as well as a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta Honors Fraternity and Kappa Delta Sorority. In her free time, she enjoys practicing yoga and cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles.
Caroline is a senior public relations major, business minor, at The University of South Carolina. At 17 she interned at a printing company, securing a background in graphics, marketing, sales, accounting, and customer service. Since attending college, she increased her experience by working at a corporate events software company that promoted her to Lead Marketing Intern after her first summer. Later on as a Marketing Communications Intern for the company, she wrote content and spent time collecting marketing data and researching trends. Her friends always ask where she is, because when she’s not behind her laptop writing, she’s off exploring new places like Cuba and Spain.
Cheyane Bligen is a senior broadcast journalism student at the University of South Carolina. Cheyane is a Ronald E. McNair scholar, currently researching "What Does Representation Look Like? The Power of Diversity in Faculty Members". She is examining the lack of representation of professors on the campus of the University of South Carolina and its role in the academic success of minority students. Cheyane continues to make an impact at her
university by serving as a Resident Mentor for Cliff apartment. Cheyane Bligen is a communication intern and research assistant for the South Carolina Commission of Minority Affairs. She intends to further her education and receive a dual degree in law and mass communications.
Elizabeth Murray is a fourth-year public relations student at the University of South Carolina. Her passion for strategic branding and luxury events has led her to Dubai, UAE and around the world. In
Paris, Elizabeth had the incredible opportunity to work for Omnicom’s brand experience agency Luxury Makers
by Auditoire. While living abroad, she developed a love for the impressionists at D’Orsay and attended
industry-leading trade shows, fashion weeks, and world-famous exhibitions, all in a cosmopolitan setting.
Growing up in the South and working at a private golf club Elizabeth learned foundational lessons in hospitality and the value of building organic relationships. When she isn’t in class or wheels up, she spends her time eating her way around Charleston, South Carolina, and ruining her stilettos on the cobblestones of the Holy City. Elizabeth is currently working as a public relations associate for Easton Events, a top luxury wedding planner cited by Vogue, Martha Stewart Weddings, and Harper's Bazaar for their exquisite destination weddings.
Hannah Bordeaux is a senior public relations major at the University of South Carolina. She grew up in Sumter, South Carolina and has spent the majority of her college career volunteering and fundraising for various non-profits. She is currently the public relations intern at Midland’s Fatherhood Coalition and is passionate about helping others. Interning for Midland’s Fatherhood Coalition has taught her more about the sector and how she can help others without working in the non-profit field. Although she loves community service and making a positive impact on those around her, her goal for post-graduation is to work in public relations for a sports team, specifically in the automobile racing industry. She is a very driven individual that strives to succeed in everything that she does professionally and personally.
Hannah Jackson is a senior at the University of South Carolina who studies public relations and hospitality. She moved to Columbia, SC to attend USC after growing up in Summerville, South Carolina. Hannah is the current marketing intern at Historic Columbia and helps the nonprofit with social media and event planning. This internship has allowed Hannah to excel in event planning and working with the press.
In addition to this, Hannah has supplemented her academic studies with professional experience through various positions and internships that have allowed her to apply her academics to a professional setting. She learned valuable skills through completion of the Disney College Program in spring 2018.

Kayla Setti, a senior public relations major at the University of South Carolina, and a minor in business administrative, has always had an interest in talking with people and marketing. She has interned with Charleston Magazine as their advertisement intern, and is currently interning with Softdocs Inc. as their marketing and sales intern. After graduating in May 2019, Kayla plans to work in Charleston for MUSC and helping build their social media platforms. In the next 5 years Kayla plans to move to Atlanta, Georgia and hopes to work with Johnson & Johnson with their public relations team. In the next 10 years, Kayla hopes to attend the University of Austin Texas and receive her master’s in public relations, and then run her own public relations consulting agency.
Kenna Coe is a third-year journalism student with a Spanish minor at the University of South Carolina and is originally from Atlanta, Georgia. She is an arts and culture writer for the Daily Gamecock and has gained many reporting and writing skills through this experience. Her passion for storytelling and desire to impact a local community are aspects that excite her about a career in journalism.
Madeleine Lesser is a senior at the University of South Carolina earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in public relations with a cognate in hospitality management. She is passionate about animals, fashion and writing. Madeleine is originally from Chicago, Illinois and has done several internships in Columbia and worked in Bethesda, MD for Marriott International this past summer. She is hoping to move back to Washington D.C. to build her public relations career.
Madeline Pizii is a senior public relations student at the University of South Carolina. She is also minoring in business administration. Pizii is grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina. She has worked at the Vista as a marketing and communications intern. Currently, Pizii is a public relations intern with the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Greater South Carolina. Her main responsibilities include managing MDA’s social media platforms and creating visual graphics for the non-profit. Pizii aspires to own her own boutique public relations and marketing agency that will work directly with small businesses in Charleston, South Carolina.
Mariah Moss is a senior at the University of South Carolina majoring in public relations with a minor in dance. She grew up dancing in Georgia and initially moved to South Carolina to attend USC as a dance major. Now she uses the creativity she learned from dance combined with public relations and hopes to move to a big city upon graduation. She loves the freedom of the public relations profession and hopes to work with a large firm or agency. She was previously a digital media interned with COLAtoday and a communications intern with the Indiana Department of Transportation. Miah Nowicki is a junior broadcast journalism major. She is originally from Wilmington, Delaware and made the move to South Carolina to earn her bachelor's degree. Along with her major, she is pursuing a cognate in political science. Nowicki hopes to land a job right out of college through the journalism school at the University of South Carolina. She has a passion for informing others about the news and providing them with the facts.
Peyton McCants is a senior public relations major with a business administration minor at the University of South Carolina. McCants is from Andrews (Georgetown), South Carolina. He is currently honing his public relations skills through his major in classes at USC’s School of Journalism and Mass Communications. McCants has a desire to work hard and do whatever it takes to get the job done. McCants has held many different summer jobs in welding, surveying and maintenance work that display his hard work ethic. He plans to work as an insurance agent upon his graduation in December 2019.
Growing up, Reema Vaidya collected style magazines in hopes that she would someday see her writing in one. Vaidya has served as an editorial, fashion, and social media intern for newspapers and popular media platforms such as Royist Lifestyle, TigerBeat Media, and The Spartanburg Herald Journal. Her experience in the field of communications has taught her the importance of having a large viewership and keeping her audience inspired and interested in the world around them. She graduates this May with a degree in Multi-Media Journalism and aspires to work for editorial magazines or fashion consulting companies someday.
Sarah Anne Semple is a senior public relations major and Spanish minor from Camden, SC. She is currently an intern for Feonix Mobility Rising, a pilot transportation program in Richland and Lexington counties where she focuses on community outreach. Throughout her life she has worked with children and hopes to one day fulfill her dreams of working with them for a nonprofit organization.
Sonia Corbett is a senior Public Relations major and Political Science minor at the University of South Carolina. Corbett is originally from Madrid, Spain, and has been living in Boston, MA since 2011. She is bilingual in both English and Spanish, and continues to expand her language skills in Italian. Corbett is interested in social issues and policy reform. She interned for the Senate Foreign Relations Committee this summer, and focused on western hemisphere and narcotics. Currently, Corbett works as a communications intern at the South Carolina Democratic Party. She hopes to become a policy advisor advocating for human rights and social responsibility.
